There is a Kyrgyz saying "Horses are men's wings". During the centuries horses played a huge role in the life of nomads. People could not survive without a horse in hard conditions of the mountainous country. In the tour you will have a chance to feel yourself as a nomad riding a horse along the Great Silk Road, living in yurta (traditional dwelling of nomads) and enjoying Kyrgyz hospitality.
Tour summary:
Day 1: Bishkek - Issyk Kul Lake
You will be picked up by professional guide at Manas International Airport and accompanied to Bishkek City (30 km), for a breakfast. Then you will be transferred to the celestial Issyk Kul Lake (200 km), (in Kyrgyz it means ‘Warm Lake', the lake never freeze, it is salty). Issyk Kul is the biggest in the country and the second largest alpine lake in the world (1608m.asl). We will also visit the Burana Tower (watch tower of the ancient Balasagun city (11th century) and an open air museum of Balbans (stone warriors). After having taken a lunch, our way to the lake will be continued. As soon as we reach the northern beach of the lake you will have time to lie on the warm sand or have a rest in Hotel. Thanks to the salty water, Issyk Kul Lake keeps healing qualities. Your dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
Day 2: Issyk-Kul Lake - Karakol
The day starts with a breakfast at 8 o'clock. Then you have free time to spend on the beach till 12 pm. Subsequently, you will start your way to Karakol city by car (200 km). We will make a short break to give you chance to visit ancient stone pictures (800 B.C.), including the local museum. At 12 o'clock we will have a second stop, where you can enjoy lunch, before continuing our way to Karakol city by the northern shore of the sparkling pearl of Central Asia. you will have opportunity to enjoy its beauty during another break, where you go on a one hour cruise on a steam boat. Then you will go to Karakol city - administrative centre of Issyk Kul region. Dinner in traditional style will be in a restaurant at 8 p.m. (for additional price you can have a folklore show there). Night in a Guesthouse.
Day 3: Karakol - Chong Kyzyl Suu Valley
You will be served breakfast at 8 o'clock. Morning is dedicated to a guided Karakol City Tour. The tour includes the visit of the Dungan mosque (picturesque building made in Chinese style without using any metal nail) and an old wooden Orthodox Church (1895). Later, you will visit the museum of M.V. Prejvalsky, who spent half of his life exploring Central Asia and was burried at the high bank of lake Issyk Kul. We will end the City Tour with a traditional lunch and leave Karakol at 1 p.m. starting our way to significant Chong Kyzyl Suu Valley (70 km). On the way, you will see different shaped red mountains and visit the mineral hot springs at Jeli Suu ( Dungan Village), where you will have the possibility to take a bath. Afterwards, you will spend 1 hour in horseback riding tour to Chong Kyzyl Suu village. Your dinner and overnight stay will be in yurts. A yurta is a nomad's dwelling, preserved in origin for centuries. It is made of felt and wood without using metal parts, and keeps warmth and comfort in any season.
Day 4: Chong Kyzyl Suu - Ashu Tor - Chong Kyzyl Suu (6h)
After a strengthening breakfast, at 9 am we start our horseback riding tour to the Ashu Tor pass (2800m). After your lunch you will have a rise on horses to an amazing mountain lake, which finds its origin in a glacier. It is possible to see mountain goats there. After contemplation of the lake we come back to the station. Dinner is served at 8 p.m. Overnight in yurts.
Day 5: Chong Kyzyl Suu - Kishi Kyzyl Suu
Breakfast at 7 am, and then you start to ride off to the valley of Kishi Kyzyl Suu (lunch on the way) - it is a magnificent canyon which will definitely impress you (6h). You will not stay indifferent by the amazing scenery of the virgin nature. Arrival to Kishi Kyzyl village at 7 pm, a traditional dinner will be served in half an hour.
Day 6: Kishi Kyzyl Suu village - Jumakuchak
After breakfast we spend 6 more hours in a saddles continue our horseback riding tour from the Kishi Kyzyl Suu valley to Jumakuchak (6h) across the Jumalai pass, where we will have a picnic. There is a perfect sight of the surface of Issyk-Kul Lake. You will have an opportunity to explore it on your own. Dinner is served at 7 p.m. Overnight in Jumakuchak in tents among nomadic yurts of Kyrgyz people.
Day 7: Jumakuchak - Kok Terek village
Breakfast at 8 am, before you will mount your horse to ride from Jumakuchak to Kok Terek Village under the hoofs (6h). On the way you will come across the cave that is called "500 rams" and you will have your lunch at the bottom of mountain waterfall. of the waterfall. There are hot springs (40 degrees Celsius) situated not far from the waterfall and it is possible to visit them. After some rest we continue our way to Kok Terek village. Dinner and overnight will be in a home stay.
Day 8: Kok Terek - Bishkek
Breakfast will be served at 8 o'clock. After packing your backpacks, you will be transmitted to Bishkek city along the southern shore of the magnificent Issyk-Kul Lake (380 km). You will arrive in Bishkek in a Hotel **** at around5 pm, where you will have time for yourself until your pick up at 7 pm to a farewell dinner will be in a restaurant.
Day 9: Bishkek - Europe
Breakfast is served at 9 o'clock. After that you start Bishkek city tour (the capital of Kyrgyzstan). During the tour you will visit the central Ala-Too Square, Duboviy Park (Oak Park),Pobeda Square (Victory Square), the History Museum, National philharmonic, Oriental Bazaar, Art Gallery and many others places of interest. At 2 p.m. you will have lunch. The rest of the day you arrange according to your wish. Pick up and transfer from the hotel.
