Tour summary:
Day 1: Dushanbe
Our driver will meet you in the airport and transfer to Dushanbe. Glad to see our guests on Tajikistan diamond 8. You will have a guided city tour and visit Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. After it we will walk in National park to make photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world - 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. We will see the Central Museum as well as Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. Don't miss to visit the Asian bazar and get to learn more about locals. Transfer to a hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe - Iskanderkul Lake
The tour will start by travelling to the high Mountain lake as Iskanderkul (2 255 m. a. s. l.). It is located in the famous Fann Mountains and ready to be explored on tours. Over there you will see Anzob pass (3 372 m) and capture amazing panorama views on tours. Don't miss to relax on sandy beaches. You can hike for about 40 minutes to see a waterfall. It is important to say that Tajikistan takes the second place among the CIS countries for volume of water resources and the highest water reserves of all Central Asian countries with more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers. Night is in a homestay.
Day 3: Iskanderkul Lake
In the morning we will have a hiking tour at the famous Fann Mountains. This area is known in ancient times as "Kuhistan" which means "Mountainous Country". On arrival, you will find 30 pure lakes of different size and outline. Today Fann Mountains are a popular on tours and weekends. The rich flora and fauna will not leave anyone indifferent. Don't miss to capture it on tours. Overnight is in a homestay.
Day 4: Iskanderkul Lake - Dushanbe - Hissor
We are happy to present the next day of travelling to Dushanbe. Passign Anzob pass (3 372 m) and tunnel of Isticlol you will see outstanding panorama views on tours. In the afternoon, you will travel to the Hisor fortress (VII-XVII centuries). It is 35 km from Dushanbe where you will have an opportunity to see fortified areas and citadel. In past times it was the residence of the delegate of the Emir of Bukhara. You will find it located on a high hill with walls of 1 m thick as well as loopholes for guns and mortars. Inside there you can find a pool and a garden and athwart from the fortress there was a busy market with a caravan serai and workshops. In Hisar you can see the monuments of "Madrasa I Kuhna" belonging to the 16th-17th centuries, mosque; the mausoleum of "Mahdumi Azam" (16th century). Night is in a hotel.
Day 5: Dushanbe - Norak - Kalai Khum
The tour will start by driving to Kalai Khum village. On the route you will see Norak water reservoir or Tajik Sea. Drive over Shuraba pass (2 267 m) and along Afghanistan border. Here you will learn more that it is already Territory of Pamir Mountains inspired by the Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. Afterwards we will drive over the natural border - Pyanj River where you can see the mountain system the ocean of white and blue mountains. Overnight is in a home stay
Day 6: Kalai Khum - Khorog
After breakfast we will drive to Khorog (the smallest city on the map of the world). It is bounded by rocky mountains and built on the confluence of the 3 rivers where Shokhdara river and Ghund river flow into Pyanj river. On the way to Khorog you will meet Pamir people that are differ from modern Tajik. They are famous for blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes. Pamirs Mountains are the highest mountains in the world with the same population after the Himalayas in Tibet. Night is in a guesthouse.
Day 7: Khorog
Today you will have the city tour. You can start visit the Botanical Garden fenced by numerous gardens. Going to at an altitude of 2320m above sea level on the coastal zone of the Shakhdara River you will see the popular Pamir Botanical Garden with inimitable plants. On the way you can visit city park and handicraft shop, museum as well as a local bazar. Afterwards, you will see today the main highlights of Khorog. We hope you will like it on tours. Day 8: Khorog - Kalai Khum
In the morning we will pass from Khorog to Kalai Khum. This area involves of high rocky mountains over 6 000 meters where only 1 road was possible to be constructed. On the way you will see the marvel beauty of virgin environment, everyday life of mountain dwellers and with this envisage how the history of humankind changed as in the story of conception. On the way we will stop in small villages to interconnect with local people. For sure you will like it. In addition, you will see Afgan stony villages and gardens. Night is in a home stay.
Day 9: Kalai Khum - Khoburubot - Dushanbe
The last day of our tour will start by driving to Dushanbe via mountain road. The roads will go high Khoburubot Pass of 3 252 or so called Western Pamir Tract. On the way you will admire river valley and stunning gorges in the land. It is recommended stopping over there and taking photos. In addition, you will see small villages and meet local people. Tajiks people are very kind and always open for communication. They truly respect their traditions and folklore. We hope you will be satisfied on your journey. This trip is attractive for the lovers of exotics, those curious about the ethnic and cultural. Transfer to a hotel for sleep.
Day 10: Flight
