Do you want to try yourself in real wild places? We want to give you that opportunity! There is biking tour that takes place in the wonderful mountains of Kyrgyzstan. The route will be along pristine mountain gorges where it is still possible to meet real nomadic people. You will ride your bike in places that are really far from the civilization and there you will feel the nature. On the way you will see yurts - nomadic felt dwellings. These Kyrgyz mountain house are very unique and their owners - real nomads will invite you for a cup of tea.
Places to visit: Bishkek - Kochkor - Sarybulak - Kichi-Naryn - Naryn town - Son Kul lake - Kyzyl Korgon canyon - Kyrk-Kyz pass - Ter Jailak pass - Toluk village - Toktogul village - Bishkek city
Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek
Your will be met by a professional guide at Manas International Airport and accompanied to Bishkek City - capital of Kyrgyzstan (30 min. drive), to a hotel*** where you will have nice breakfast. After some rest you will have a trip to Natural Park Ala-Archa. It is located in the Ala-Arch gorge, in 45 km from Bishkek. You will walk among staggering landscapes in one of the most beautiful gorges in Kyrgyzstan. Traditional dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Night in a Hotel***.
Day 2: Bishkek - Kochkor - Sarybulak
In the morning we transfer to Kochkor village by car via Orto Tokoi water reservoir. At the Kochkor you will meet a family that produce national felt carpets according traditional technologies. You will take part in show and can create your own carpet together with them! Later, you will visit Kyrgyz Handicraft museum there in the village. Then ride on an asphalt road to Sary Bulak village (2310 m. alt., 38 km). Transfer (7 km, 2390m. alt.) by bike on dirt road to confluence of Kara-Kudjur and Biulioomiu rivers. Overnight in tents
Day 3: Sarybulak - Kichi-Naryn
Today you will ride along the sparkling Balgart river and Kichi-Naryn river. It is easy day you will ride on dirt road. For night we will stay in tents near the Kichi-Naryn river in the forest. Since the ancient time nomadic shepherds were coming to this area with all their relatives. Some time there could be about 1000 yurts in a big tribe! All of them were going from one place to another as a big family with great herds of cattle. Kyrgyz nomads are very hospitable and like to meet travelers.
Day 4: Ride (63 km) Kichi-Naryn - Naryn town
In the morning we will ride down to the Kichi-Naryn village (2351m. alt.) that is located not far from the confluence of the Kichi-Naryn and Naryn rivers(4 km). You will move along Naryn- the longest river in Kyrgyzstan river to the town of Naryn (2800 m. alt.). It is an administrative centre of the region and was built right in the gorge along the river Naryn. The road to Naryn will surprise you by remarkable and amazing mountains. The whole way will bike along improbable gorges and you will have many photo stops! Day is easy because you will ride on the main road. Lunch will be on the road. This night you spend in yurts as real nomads! Yurts are traditional nomadic dwellings that are made of felt and wood without using a single nail. It might be collapsed and constructed in one hour and to transmit yurt you need just one camel.
Day 5: Transfer or Ride Naryn - Son Kul Lake
Today according to your decision you can ride or to be transferred over the Kurtka Pass (3243m. alt.) to the second largest and the highest lake in Kyrgyzstan Son Kul Lake. To the beginning of the gorge you will ride by a slight descent. But later when you enter a narrow gorge with high sharp rock walls, in some places up to 200 meters begins a steep ascent to the pass. Son Kul located at an altitude of 3016 meters above sea level and surrounded by mountains and wide plentiful pasturelands. Kyrgyz nomads used to come to this area with their families for rest and relaxation. Herders of the Naryn region come to the lake to use it as a pastureland. After our arrival, you will be free to explore the virgin nature of the lake and its surroundings. Dinner and overnight is in nomadic collapsible dwellings - yurts. (3016 m. alt.)
Day 6: Son Kul Lake
After a long and difficult bicycle journey it is a good place to rest. We will walk in the Tian-Shan Mountains where every nomad will be glad to invite you to his yurt and entertain you with kumyz (national holy drink made of mare's milk). You will have a great opportunity to explore Kyrgyz nature and lifestyle on your own. You can ride a horse along the lake, or just enjoy the atmosphere of the wild, but calm nature. It is a great chance to get acquainted with nomadic traditions and culture. This night you will spend in tents.
Day 7: Ride Son Kul lake - Kyzyl Korgon canyon (80km)
After the breakfast we will visit the holy stones with ancient stone depictions (dating back to 800 B.C.) that are not far from the lake. Afterwards we will leave Son Kul and will ride to the Djumgal valley through Kara Keche pass (3381m). It is a region of lofty mountains, divine snow peaks, rocks,and red canyons. Local walking in the red canyons. Night in tents.
Day 8: Ride Kyzyl Korgon - Kyrk-Kyz pass 3223m
Today we will see variously colored rocks, stunning panoramas and the widest pastures. We pass near a small poor village called Kizil Oi (red canyon) that is hidden in the mountains. There you will have time to walk and to see the country side life of Kyrgyz people. On the way to the village you will see our famous red canyons that are completely uncommon for mountains in Kyrgyzstan. This place will impresses you and you will want to come back there one more time. Night is in the tents.
Day 9: Ride Kyrk-Kyz pass - Ter Jailak pass 2446m - Toluk village (50km)
Here, the rout is difficult, but we will meet many Kyrgyz shepherds who spent here summer on the summer pastures. Even nowadays they come to this place so you will see their way of life. Nomads are very hospitable and they are always glad to relate with foreigners. You can ask them about their life and they will show you their felt dwellings. And of course here you can try national drink kumis. It is made of fermented mare's milk. Night is in tents.
Day 10: Ride and transfer to the Toktogul village
After breakfast we will ride to Toktogul village and our car will follow us. The road has many really improbable views and you won't be able forget them. There it is become clear for anybody that Mother Nature is the best architecture in the world! Lunch and transfer to the village where you will take a shower or drive to the artificial lake. Overnight is in a home stay.
Day 11: Transfer to Bishkek city
In the morning we will drive to Bishkek city. You will be charmed by the stunning scenery offered through views of the primeval nature. In the city you will have free time to go shopping and to walk in the capital. In the evening you will have a dinner in a restaurant and this night you will spend in a hotel***.
Day 12: Transfer to the airport
Your guide will meet you at your hotel at the pick up time arranged previously according to your flight details and attend you to Manas International Airport.
